Wet shoes will drip-dry onto the tray and the stones will ensure the shoes don’t soak in the excess liquid. This is an especially good idea for rain boots!

Even dry shoes piled onto the entryway floor can leave an outdoorsy mess behind. Make sure you garage mudroom has a shoe rack! Organize your jumbled pile of shoes into a department store display near the entrance to your home. Tennis shoes, sneakers, sandals, flip-flops and more can be rearranged to hang neatly out of the home to ensure dirt stays clear of your clean floors.

Play Hook-y
Sometimes it’s the stuff we carry in with us that adds to the mess in our homes. One solution is to add hooks on your garage walls near the door to your home to hang wet umbrellas and beach bags covered in sand. Other hangable items include wet coats, dirty outdoor gear and snowsuits.
Drop Trash Off Before Entering Your Home
Providing yourself with a trashcan at the garage door entryway will save you from running into your home to throw anything away, thus eliminating extra mess from following you indoors. This will come in handy when you (finally) have time to clean out your car filled with sundry items and need to get rid of those food or candy wrappers quickly.
